Parkhill is a well equipped clinic designed to meet both you and your pets needs. Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team strives to ensure your vet clinic experience is as pleasant as possible. Parkhill Clinic became part of the Veterinary Hospital Group in 2010, enhancing the Veterinary Hospital Group's ability to provide excellent veterinary services. Our team includes Veterinarians Andrea, Emily, and Ziyi, who are supported by our dedicated nursing team; clinic manager Emma, head nurse Caitlin, Emily T and Phoebe and support staff Billie. Alongside our excellent veterinary care, we also offer on-site grooming services.

Meet the Team

Dr Megan Rice
BVSc

Megan is a 2006 Massey graduate with keen interests in dermatology (skin), ophthalmology (eyes) and clinical pathology. She joined our group in early 2016 and is working part time across several of the Vet hospital clinics. Megan lives with her husband Dave and two young children Caitlin and Connor in West Harbour. She enjoys getting out and about with her family and experimenting in the kitchen with good food and wine.

Dr Andrea Palmer
BSc BVSc

Andrea graduated with her Batchelor of Veterinary Science (distinction) in 1996. She lives locally with her family and two doted-on cats. In her free time Andrea enjoys meeting up with friends, biking, going for hikes and baking sweet treats for her colleagues.

Devon Russell
BVSc

Following graduation from Massey University in 2021, Devon soon moved to Auckland to join the Veterinary Hospital Group. Devon enjoys working with all companion animals but has an especially soft spot for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels after growing up with them in Wellington. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, rollerskating, baking and reading.

Ziyi Lian
BVSc

I graduated from Massey University and I am committed to continuously learning and improving my skills to provide the best possible care for your pets. I enjoy biking, playing badminton, reading, and doing handcraft. I have a dog named Kitty and a cat named Doggy, who have been my emotional support and precious companions since my university days.

Sophie Smith
BVSc

Sophie graduated from Massey in 2019. After university, she moved to Taranaki where she gained experience working with both large and small animals for 3 years. After getting a taste for rural practice, Sophie moved back home to Auckland to be closer to her family. Sophie splits her time between the Albany and Parkhill clinics and on her days off you’ll find her hanging out with her bunnies Ellie and Rob.

Emily Hunter
BVSc

Emily graduated from Surrey University in 2020. She spent two years working in the UK and then moved to New Zealand and joined the Veterinary Hospital Group. She is enjoying exploring the north shore and meeting all of the clients and their pets. In her free time she enjoys walking, cooking and painting pet portraits.

Emily Taylor
Dip VN

Emily graduated from vet nurse plus in 2022. She has been a student with us since 2020 .Her main interest is surgical nursing as well as oncology nursing . In her spare time she loves to walk her parents dog Charlie , go caving, plan her next overseas trip and anything arts and crafts . Emily splits her time working between Parkhill and Peninsula Bay.

Rebecca Seay
Dip VN

After a varied career including spending time in the Navy, Rebecca graduated as a Vet Nurse in 2017 from Unitec. She enjoys spending time with her family which includes her dogs, cats and the 2 alpacas.

Georgia Mace
DipVN

Georgia graduated with her Vet Nursing Diploma from Vet Nurse Plus in 2020 and joined the Parkhill nursing team. As a high school student she worked in the cattery at Parkhill and discovered her love for cats. In her free time she enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends and cuddling animals.

Tayla Charlesworth
Dip VN

Graduating from Vet Nurse Plus with her Diploma of Vet Nursing in 2021, Tayla has been with the Veterinary Hospital Group since she was a student. Ever since she was a kid she has always known she wanted to work with animals. She found her passion in vet nursing and everyday continues to improve and aim for the best standard of care of all animals that walk through the door. Outside of work Tayla enjoys spending time cuddling with her two cats, Fanta and Cola.

Billie Wilson

Billie joined Parkhill as our front of house in 2022, having worked with dogs for over 16 years and bred German Shepherds for 12 years so has a real passion and interest in canine behaviour and training. She lives rurally with her two furkids (GSDs) and a teenage son at home. When she is not raising and caring for livestock any spare time is spent with family and friends and of course all her four legged friends.

Caitlin Woodhams
Dip VN

Caitlin joined the team at Parkhill in February as our head nurse after moving from her hometown of Melbourne. She is a qualified veterinary nurse who loves all areas of veterinary life but has a soft spot for our feline friends. Caitlin lives with her husband Chris and their Burmese cat Daisy. Outside of work she likes to spend her free time reading and doing pilates.

Emma Goldsmith
Dip VN

Emma graduated from Unitec in 2018 after returning for a change of career to pursue a lifelong passion for animals. She joined Parkhill in early 2024 as clinic manager. Outside of work she enjoys beach walks with her bouncy golden retriever Marshall, husband Ryan and daughter Olive or cuddling up with her tabby cat reading a good book.

Andie McDowell
Dip VN

Andie has been a vet nurse for 15 years, working at various clinics. Her passion is canine behaviour and mentoring and up skilling our junior nurses. She has a rescue dog Asher, along with two adult children. With her partner enjoys softball and motor sports.

Gina Kim
Dip VN

Gina was born in South Korea, she came to NZ 15 years ago. When she was younger she had pet fish, hermit crabs and beetles. She is also obsessed with Aquariums. After spending 5 years in Hospitality & Tourism, she is finally pursuing her true passion towards animals. She has completed certificate of veterinary nursing with Vet Nurse Plus in 2020 and studied her diploma of veterinary nursing with UNITEC in 2021. Day to day she enjoys building a rapport with the clients and loves every moment of being a vet nurse. Her interest are pet grooming, anaesthesia and emergency care. At home Gina has a handsome grey tabby cat, Groomi who means the world to her.
