Vaccinations and health checks

Vaccinations are the best method of preventing disease in your horses. There are many diseases in horses such as Tetanus, Strangles, Salmonella, Herpes Virus and Rotavirus which can be prevented through vaccination. Horses are particularly susceptible to tetanus, which is difficult to treat and can be fatal.

Talk to your vet about what vaccination schedule is best for your horse as there are differences in recommendations for initial courses, boosters and for foals, adults and broodmares

Health checks are essential to make sure you're getting the most out of your horse and ensuring any concerns are dealt with as soon as possible.

"Always great with our Mr Milo – been going since he was a pup in puppy pre-school and now he’s a daft old man at the age of 10."

"Was dreading taking my boys anywhere other than the vet I worked with in Wellington, but Raewyn is a fantastic vet, very happy cats, very happy owner "
